Thank you for buying premium Mt. Meru Coffee.
Your purchase is helping us in Supporting Families, Growing Futures and Changing Lives of small coffee growers in the Mt. Meru region of Tanzania. Much of this coffee is grown on 1-3 acre sustenance farms where annual family incomes average $500 - $600.
A 2021 article in the Daily Coffee News highlighted the continuing coffee price crisis. For many growers, the price offered by the international buyers has been less than the cost of production. This was further stressed as the world’s demand for coffee decreased during the pandemic.
Historically, the Mt. Meru Coffee Project has purchased coffee from farmers at prices that far exceed the average market price. We will continue to do so for the foreseeable future with your help. Mt Meru Coffee Project / World Coffee Prices Our focus and mission continues to be on helping to improve the standard of living in the Meru region. A higher price is paid to our 2,000 coffee farming partners. This additional income is improving the standard of living to others in the region. The best way for us to do that is by selling more of the coffee they produce. Prices at the Mt. Meru Coffee website are a great value considering the high quality of Mt Meru PREMIUM coffee.
